Anyone can create their own multimedia storytelling content and post it for the world to see for a few thousand dollars. That doesn’t necessarily make them a great storyteller.
I still believe that compelling stories can be told with mixed media, not just stills or video only.
Description: Flying in a motorized paraglider over one of the most diverse continents in the world, George Steinmetz captures in his photographs the stunning beauty, potential and hope of Africa’s landscapes and people. See the project at http://mediastorm.com/publication/african-air
The use of photofilm techniques mixing video, audio and stills is a compelling storytelling form.
IMO, The use of mixed media is not even close to being dead. Still images have a place in story telling if the images are compelling and add to the overall impact of the story.
How To Tell A Story

Filmmaker Andrew David Watson’s vision is gritty, subdued, yet powerful.
In my opinion, excellent hdslr visuals and cinematic story telling.
